E-Reference Tool

Houghton Mifflin has been working with Kanda Software since the venerable book publisher created its e-dictionary in the form of a CD.  Kanda’s technical strengths in areas such as compression and indexing made us the right choice for this task.

Kanda’s latest project for Houghton Mifflin is the downloadable tool known as e-Reference, which puts the American Heritage Dictionary and Roget’s Thesaurus at your fingertips online – just click on a word in your Microsoft Office application and the definition is revealed.  And many new integrated reference titles are coming soon.

Kanda-developed offerings from Houghton Mifflin are available over the Web, and on PC, Mac, and various flavors of UNIX.   Many components of the offering, including conversion, fuzzy search and browse, multilingual spell-checker, and cross-platform support are available from Kanda as packaged solutions.
